Amber just completed the role of Amanda in the short film, "Balloons," written and directed by Millicent Cho.

She also plays Star in the indie feature, "The Human War"(2011), which won 3rd place feature at the Appalachian Film Festival.

Amber Paul With starring roles in acclaimed independent films, Amber Paul has become recognized for her distinctive cinematic presence and facility with unusual, challenging roles. The Miami-born, Tennessee-raised blonde started her career in New York, studying acting with noted teachers Harold Guskin, Michael Howard, and Gloria Maddox, before landing roles in stage productions like the NY premiere of Joyce Carol Oates’ Black Water. Around this time she also began appearing on television’s “As the World Turns.”

A high-profile role as one of Julia Roberts’ students in Mona Lisa Smile (2003) led to Paul’s appearance as Peter Sarsgaard’s fiancée in the Oscar-nominated Kinsey (2004). She followed with starring parts in thought-provoking films such as The Oval (2008), Yours Always, Sam (2007), The Cuckold (2009), and, most recently, The Human War (2010). Paul has also appeared on Jon Glaser’s television series, “Delocated,” for Adult Swim and NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle.” Her films have appeared in many prestigious festivals, including IFP Buzz Cuts, Creatively Speaking at Brooklyn Academy of Music, and Harlem Stage on Screen.

Other festival appearances include Harlem Film Festival, Nashville Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives New Filmmakers Series, Appalachian Film Festival, 48 Hour Film Festival, St. Clair Bourne Film Festival, and the Kanbar Institute New Visions and Voices.
